"Hardcore Christianity" began production in 2006 when podcasting was really beginning to catch on. And as with many KTF Productions, we decided to go where the people were listening. The audience for the show grew quickly and email responses started coming in. However, over time, it became more and more difficult to generate fresh topics to speak on. What began as a weekly podcast slowed to a crawl. Year after year, fewer episodes were being produced until eventually, we decided to cancel the series. After much audience urging to reboot the series, we produced a few more episodes then the project went back to sleep. Now, with 36 episodes produced (and a previously unreleased bonus episode) visitors can listen online or download the entire series to their computer or mobile device.
When "Hardcore Christianity" was originally conceived, I was at a place where the state of our society really began to draw blood when it came to my spiritual sanity. How could we, as a society, drift so far from what God originally intended? Not only had we drifted, new standards that were clearly sinful were being accepted by Christians as well. This series was created in an effort to wake up the Christian community and return to the roots of the faith - the truth of the gospel. Not much seems to have changed in our society, but my faith in American Christians has bounced back, somewhat. In my community, believers seem to be praying more, combining efforts more and mobilizing to reach the lost. Also, I've noticed "hardcore" faith in many believers who I've met over the years, renewing my hope. Even though these episode were produced years ago, I still believe that much, if not all, of the sentiments still remain true and relevant.
