Title: Campus Generation (A Bi-Weekly talk-show series,
1996-1997)

Premise:
"Campus Generation" is a 13-part series of 1 hour
programs specifically targeting Western Michigan University
college students. The purpose of this series is to educate,
entertain, inform and to bring the viewer to the point of
examining their own role in life. This show encourages students
to be better people, more sensitive to others, caring, helpful,
and most importantly it helps them obtain the openness to
experience the reality of God. This series effectively brings
out the trials and tribulations of college life and challenges
the viewers and panelist about issues concerning college.
It is created for students to supply them with the knowledge
that they need to better survive on a college campus. This
series was also produced in association with Chi Alpha Campus
Ministries.
Video
The mission of Campus Generation is simple... to reach
the college campus with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
It is designed to plant seeds within students, faculty and
staff who have yet to know Christ. This television series
also supplies students with information about Christian
organizations that exist on Western Michigan University's
campus so that as they grow in Christ. Campus Generation
reaches students by meeting them where they are. It gives
them pertinant information that will help them survive their
daily walk on campus and teaches them how to live according
to the Word of God. Each episode is approximately 1 hour
long, created primarily by students, for students. Episodes

Relationships |

Sharing a room
with someone you've never lived with before
can be a difficult and trying period in life.
We all need to learn the simple guidelines
of how to be sensitive to the needs of one
another.
Pastor Mike Meringa and our 5 panelists discuss
roommate relationships as it applies to college
life. We find that there is no better teacher
than the Word of God, as it explains in Phillippians
that we should not look only to our own interests,
but also the interests of others. |

| New Kid On
The Block |
 |
Change is often
scary, whether it be moving to a new location,
making new friends, starting a new job, or
beginning a career in college. The uncertainties
of a new experience can drive many to worry.
Pastor Mike and our five panelists discuss
how being a new freshman at a University can
cause many to doubt and fear. This can lead
to depression, loneliness and strife not only
for the new freshman, but for the returning
freshman as well. |

Everyone wants
to be accepted. On the college scene this
is something that is strived for almost on
a daily basis.

course of one's life there are many choices.
As decisions are made about these different
choices we find that the results mold us to
be who we are.

the death of a loved one; someone who has
committed suicide? Suicide is the second leading
cause of death among teenagers and young adults,
second only to auto accidents.
In this episode, Pastor Mike and our panelist
explore the many facets of suicide. The symptoms,
the destruction and the answer to the question

everyday. It may be due to an upcoming final
exam, problems with a relationship, or just
not knowing the outcome of a decision that
had been made.

worry and anxiety. Find out why we worry,
the dangers of worrying, and what we can do
to stop worrying. |

It's a growing battle and a disease that should
concern us all.
Pastor Mike and our panelist discuss the
dangers of substance abuse and how it effects
everyone. They explain that curing the abuse
of harmful substances is understanding that
the user is not an evil person, just someone
who needs help. |

is not meant to anger viewers. It's not even
created to persuade viewers. Instead, it is
produced to give much needed information to
those who would like to know the truth about
abortion.

had an abortion as well as from those who
work daily with women pondering abortion.

most importantly, know that God will love
and forgive those who have had an abortion.
