PROJECT HISTORY

We began producing "Christian Music Videos" in 1997, airing exclusively on our public access station, but soon broadened to a network of 15 television stations including Satellite and Cable. At the height of its run, we were reaching over 25 million households with the show. As the years passed, the show went through several iterations, hosts, and lengths. When it landed on the international satellite network, Sky Angel, we settled on a 28 minute, 30 second length. KTF Productions aired 100 episodes from 1997-2000, then I decided it was time to cancel the series. Pre-2000, the show was a time consuming project. As technology advanced, I formulated a plan to reboot the series. This time we would air a new episode every single week. In 2005, we relaunched the series with new hosts, a show mascot and a workflow that would accommodate a weekly deadline. In January 2019, Sky Angel, our largest station, decided to close its channel. Once that was official, after over 20 years and over 800 episodes, we stopped the production of the show. There are currently a few television stations airing reruns, and over 70 episodes can be viewed on our CMV Mobile YouTube channel.

PURPOSE

The purpose of CMV is simple; to reach as many as possible with the gospel in the hope of planting seeds which God may use to change lives.  We do that primarily by sharing 5-6 Christ-focused music videos in every episode. Each episode also features a scripture-based devotional along with opportunities for viewers to send in prayer requests and enter to win free Christian CDs. CMV has seen several spin off versions in an effort to reach beyond the television screen. We've produced, "CMV Mobile", an internet version of the television show featuring independent Christian artists, and "Christian Music Podcast", an audio-only series featuring independent Christian artists. In each version of the show, the focus on Christ remained the same. Each music video is screened and vetted for its Christian merit as well as its professional quality. CMV’s mission is to reach hearts with the gospel. And the best way to do that is by being as professional as we know how, and by remaining focused on the reason for the series.
