Prayer is one of the most powerful gifts God has given us. It is our direct line of communication with him—a way to speak, to listen, and to connect with our Creator. And yet, for many of us, prayer can feel inconsistent. We may pray in moments of need, when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. But in seasons of comfort or routine, prayer can easily become an afterthought. Scripture reminds us in 1 Thessalonians, chapter 5, verse 17:
“Pray continually.”
Prayer is not meant to be occasional—it is meant to be continual. Not just a reaction, but a rhythm. The discipline of prayer is not about perfection. It is about consistency. It is about intentionally creating space in our lives to meet with God, to bring our thoughts, our concerns, and our gratitude before him. Prayer also aligns our hearts with God. It shifts our focus from ourselves to him. It reminds us that we are not in control—and that we don’t have to be. There may be times when you don’t know what to say; times when your prayers feel simple, or even repetitive. But God is not concerned with eloquence—he is concerned with your heart. So I encourage you to make prayer a daily priority. Set aside time. Be intentional. Speak honestly.

Prayer is not about saying the right words—it is about drawing near to God. The more we pray, the more we grow. Let us be people who seek him consistently, not just in crisis, but in every season.
