Love is a word that is used often, but not always understood. In the world, love can be conditional, inconsistent, and sometimes even fleeting. It can depend on circumstances, feelings, or actions. But God’s love is different. God’s love is unfailing. It does not waver. It does not fade. It does not depend on what we do or how we feel. It is constant, steady, and secure. Psalm 136 repeats this powerful truth over and over:

“His love endures forever.”

Forever. That means there is nothing we can do to make God love us more, and nothing we can do to make him love us less. There may be times when we feel unlovable. Times when we struggle, fail, or fall short. But God’s love is not based on our performance—it is rooted in his character. His love is also active. It is not just something he says—it is something he demonstrates. The greatest example of this is found in Jesus, who gave his life for us. So I encourage you to rest in that love. Not to strive for it, not to question it, but to receive it.

God’s love is not temporary—it is eternal. It is not conditional—it is secure. Let us live in the confidence of that love, knowing that we are fully known and fully loved by him.
