Faithfulness is a rare and valuable quality. In a world where promises are often broken and commitments are easily abandoned, it can be difficult to find something—or someone—you can truly rely on. But God is not like the world. God is faithful. Always. There is never a moment when he forgets his promises, abandons his people, or fails to follow through on what he has said. His faithfulness is not dependent on circumstances, and it is not influenced by our behavior. In 2 Timothy, chapter 2, verse 13, we are reminded:
“If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”
Even when we are inconsistent, God remains constant. Even when our faith wavers, his does not. There may be times in your life when you feel uncertain. Times when things don’t go as planned, when prayers seem unanswered, or when the path ahead feels unclear. In those moments, it can be easy to question whether God is still at work. But faithfulness is not always immediately visible. Sometimes, it is revealed over time. When you look back on your life, you may begin to see it more clearly. The ways God provided when you didn’t know how things would work out. The doors he opened—or closed—for your good. The moments he sustained you when you felt like you couldn’t go on. That is his faithfulness. So I encourage you to trust him, even when you don’t fully understand what he is doing. Hold onto his promises. Stand firm in your faith.

God’s faithfulness is not based on how we feel—it is based on who he is. And who he is never changes. Let us anchor ourselves in that truth, knowing that the God who has been faithful in the past will be faithful in the future.
